The short history
HomePlus Stone started in Ontario, where the team spent more than two decades cutting countertops for homeowners, cabinet shops and builders. Over that time they learned which suppliers ship what they promise, which colours hold up in a busy kitchen, and how much of a countertop's final quality is decided at the template stage rather than at the saw.
Opening in Dartmouth meant bringing all of that across: the same import relationships, the same equipment, and the same habit of telling a customer when the material they picked is wrong for the room they picked it for.
The shop at 105 Research Drive handles the whole job. Slabs come off the container, get cut, mitred and polished here, and go out on our own truck with our own installers. Nothing passes through a third party who has never spoken to you.
Supply
Buying containers direct rather than pallets through a middleman is what lets us quote $55 a square foot on quartz and still stand behind the material.

We work closely with KASA Stone, an established quartz manufacturer with distribution centres across the country. Working with one primary supplier means colour consistency across a job that spans several slabs, and it means we can tell you what is actually in stock rather than what a catalogue says.

The quartz we supply is backed by SGS test reports covering durability and safety. SGS is an independent inspection and certification body, which means the numbers come from a laboratory rather than from a marketing department. Ask and we will show you the reports for the product you are considering.

Popular colours arrive by the container straight from the mill and the quarry. Fewer hands between the source and your kitchen means a shorter price and a shorter lead time, and it means the slab you picked off the rack is the slab that gets cut.
How we work
None of this is remarkable. It is simply what a countertop shop should do, and it is worth writing down so you can hold us to it.
Where we work
Most weeks the truck is somewhere in Halifax Regional Municipality: Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville, Cole Harbour, Timberlea, Fall River. We travel further into Nova Scotia for residential work regularly, and we take commercial projects throughout Atlantic Canada.
If you are outside the usual radius, call and ask. Travel is a line on the quote, not a reason to say no.
